RYDER EXPANDS ITS ASIA-PACIFIC PRESENCE IN THAILAND
BANGKOK, June 20, 2006 – Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a U.S.-based global leader in supply chain, warehousing and transportation management solutions, today officially announced the expansion of its Asia-Pacific presence into Thailand during a reception at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok.
Ryder has established a legal entity in Thailand as part of the Company’s ongoing plan to support growing market needs for integrated logistics services throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Region headquarters based in Singapore was established in 2000.
“This announcement demonstrates our increasing commitment to operating in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Ryder President of International Operations Bobby Griffin. “We are confident that under the leadership of our Vice President and Managing Director of Asia, K.S. Choong, Thailand will become an important component of our overall strategy to serve growing customer demand in the region.”
Mr. Tom Jones, Senior Vice President responsible for global automotive logistics business added “Ryder is the world leader in Automotive logistics providing services to General Motors, Daimler Chrysler, Toyota and Nissan to name but a few.
